Privacy policy

This policy explains what information AssetHUD (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the AssetHUD desktop app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can to run the service.

The short version

• Background removal and SVG tracing run on your computer. Those images are not uploaded to us.
• We store your account (email and sign-in method), your plan and how much of it you have used this month.
• Image searches pass through our server to our search provider. We don’t store your search terms.
• We don’t sell your information, and the app has no advertising or third-party tracking.

Information we collect

Your account

When you sign up we store your email address and how you sign in (Google or email and password). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are stored only as secure hashes.

Your plan and usage

We record your plan, the date your billing cycle started and how many searches, background removals and SVG traces you have used in the current cycle. We need this to apply your plan’s limits.

Searches

When you search for images, the app sends your search terms and your sign-in token to our search server, which forwards the terms to our search provider and returns the results. Our server keeps short technical logs (such as how long a request took) to keep the service reliable, but it does not store your search terms. To prevent abuse, requests are rate limited by account and by IP address.

Payments

Paid plans are sold through our payment provider, which acts as the seller and processes your payment details. We never see or store your full card number. We receive what we need to manage your subscription, such as your plan, its status and renewal date.

Support emails

If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and refer back to it.

What stays on your computer

Your settings, tabs, search history, starred images and downloaded files are stored locally on your PC. Images you open in Studio, remove backgrounds from or trace to SVG are processed on your PC and are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app and deleting its folder removes this data.

Services we rely on

• Supabase for accounts, sign-in and storing your plan and usage.
• Cloudflare to run our search server.
• Serper to fetch Google Images results for your search terms.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• GitHub to deliver app updates and to show release information on this website. The background removal models come inside the app.
• Our payment provider for paid plans, as described above.

When the app loads search results or icons, the images come directly from the websites and icon libraries that host them, which can see your IP address the same way any website you visit can.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Fonts are served by Google Fonts and release information is loaded from GitHub, so those services receive your IP address when you visit.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account, plan and usage records are deleted straight away. Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, keeps billing records for tax and legal reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your account yourself in the app (profile menu, then Account, then Delete account). You can also ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by emailing support@assethud.app from the address you sign in with. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as objecting to certain uses or complaining to your local data protection authority.

Children

AssetHUD is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll let you know in the app or by email.
